Making a difference in cancer control in Europe since 1980

The Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) is a non-profit, pan-European umbrella organisation bringing together 35 national and regional cancer societies.

Based in Brussels, ECL provides a unique platform for cancer leagues across Europe to collaborate with their international peers on key issues such as cancer prevention, early detection, access to medicines, and patient support. We provide valuable opportunities for our members to advocate for these priorities at the EU level.

ECL is independent from the influence of the pharma industry. We do not accept any support from the tobacco industry, or any other companies who produce products that are deemed harmful to health.

Our vision

A Europe free of cancer.

Our mission

Our mission is to advocate for improved cancer control and care in Europe by facilitating collaboration between cancer leagues and shaping EU and pan-European policies.

Our strength: our members

The Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL) is the voice of national and regional cancer leagues in Europe. Together with our powerful network of member organisations, we have helped shape the cancer control agenda in Europe since 1980.
